From the Harvest to Christmas π
Well, what a growing season it’s been!
The weather certainly hasn't made things easy for us this year. We've had our fair share of wet, wind and generally difficult growing conditions, but despite all that, we've had a surprisingly successful harvest.
The top fruit in particular has been exceptional. Our plum trees have given us a fantastic crop, and we've also had a really good harvest of apples. It's always satisfying to see the fruit we've nurtured through the year eventually making its way into our kitchen — and, of course, into our jams, chutneys and other preserves.
The polytunnels are another story! They were badly damaged in the winter storms and, despite our best intentions, we still haven't managed to get them properly recovered. It's now firmly on the 2027 jobs list. There always seems to be something else that needs doing first on a smallholding!
And now... Christmas!
We're already turning our thoughts towards Christmas and getting ready for the orders that come with it.
If you're looking for something a little different for friends, family, neighbours, teachers or work colleagues, we've got some lovely Treddafydd Organic gift options available in our online shop.
Our cello-wrapped stacks of jams and chutneys make particularly nice presents — simple, useful and, hopefully, very tasty! We've also got gift vouchers available if you'd rather let someone choose their own favourites.
Everything is made here at Treddafydd Farm on the LlΕ·n Peninsula, using organic ingredients wherever we can, with much of our own fruit and produce going into the jars.
So, while we're putting the farm to bed for winter, the preserving kitchen is still busy and we're looking forward to a few more months of making, packing and sending our preserves out to customers old and new.
If you'd like to support our little organic farm this Christmas, have a look at our online shop and see what's available. And if you're buying gifts, don't leave it until the last minute — we're a small operation and everything is prepared and packed by us here on the farm.
π Visit the Treddafydd Organic online shop and find something tasty for Christmas.
Thank you, as always, for following along with what we're doing here at Treddafydd Farm. We really do appreciate every order, recommendation and message.
